Initiative production of Juan Devis’ "Tropical America,"
has been extended thru August 10, 2003! "Tropical America"
is a tale of the human spirit set against the backdrop of
artist Siquieros’ controversial work of art. Directed
by Carmelo Alvarez and starring Richard Azurdia, Lydia Blanco,
Marina Dena-Santo, Cher Ferreyra, Efrain Garibay, Lorena Mena,
Alejandro Patino, Ursula Schmidt and Rafael Simon.

Tickets are $15 and for students and seniors $8. For 24th
Street Theatre's neighbors with the Neighborhood Pass, admission
is FREE.
"Tropical
America" runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and on Sundays
at 3pm, through August 10, 2003. This production is funded
by the California Community Foundation and the City of Los
Angeles' Dept of Cultural Affairs. The premiere production
of "Tropical America" was commissioned by the California
Institute of the Arts Community Arts Partnership (CAP) at
Plaza De La Raza in 1998.
