“Telling stories from every corner of the world” Our Next International Collaboration! July 6, 2010 - Rehearsals began this week in Ecuador. Yes, Ecuador. It’s the home of famed theatre director/playwright Aristides Vargas, a legend in the Latin American Theatre. This September, we’ll open the U.S. Premiere of Aristides’ play La Razón Blindada at 24th ST. So this week, our 24th ST actors flew to Quito, where the first month of rehearsals will be held. Then Aristides, will come to LA and finish directing the play at 24th ST. This is an international co-production with Mexico’s Instituto de Culturo/24th ST/and the Universidad Autonoma of Culiacan, Mexico. More details from Ecuador as rehearsals take shape. Stay tuned… Written by Suzanne Lebeau
The US Premiere of El Ogrito (The Ogreling) opened at 24th Street in May 2009 and had a successful three-month run. It received widespread critical acclaim, including the Los Angeles Times Critic's Choice selection. The production then
toured to 10 cities in Mexico, El Salvador, Colombia and the Central California coast, and returned to 24th Street for an encore performance in June 2010. The winner of Canada’s 2000 Prix Masque Award and translated into eight languages, Québec playwright Suzanne Lebeau’s stage work probes the monster within all of us.
