For many years now Deb has been directing the LA Philharmonic’s Summer Sounds at the Hollywood Bowl. She loves doing this job for two reasons: (1) it’s the Hollywood Bowl! (2) the great musicians, dancers, and artists from around the world with whom she gets to work. Since we made our Explorer Series a dedicated music series, we’ve brought most of the musical groups Deb’s worked with at the Bowl to 24th STreet. We figure it makes sense to bring these world-class artists to 24th & Hoover since most folks in our neighborhood never make it to the Bowl. The friends we’ve made from Deb’s work on Summer Sounds are very dear to us.
Among those artists and new found friends are Louie Cruz Beltran and his wonderful manager, Anastasia Mann. We met them last summer at the Bowl and Deb had a blast working with Louie. They riffed together and created many great moments. Then Louie sang and played his music, wow. What a consummate performer. When we invited him to perform at Dia De Los Muertos in November, we started with a sheepish apology because we didn’t much money to offer. But Louie and Anastasia didn’t care about that at all. They did it forlove. Our kind of people, these two; big-hearted artists. They get it. AND, Louie rocked the house on Day of the Dead! And the parking lot! He rocked everywhere.
And he’s gonna rock the house again in our Saturday Explorer Series on April 25th. We’re so lucky to be able to work with artists we really respect. But we’re even luckier to find world-class artists whom we adore as much as we respect. You’ll adore them too.

¡Louie les va a encantar!
Desde hace muchos años, Deb ha estado dirigiendo Summer Sounds con la Filarmónica de Los Ángeles en el Hollywood Bowl. A ella le encanta hacer este trabajo por dos razones: (1) ¡Es el Hollywood Bowl! (2) Los grandes músicos, bailarines y artistas de todo el mundo con los que ella tiene que trabajar. Desde que empezamos con nuestras Series de Explorador Sabatinas dedicadas a la música, hemos traído al Teatro 24, a la mayor parte de los grupos musicales con los que Deb ha trabajado. Nos damos cuenta de que tiene un gran sentido que estos artistas de talla mundial lleguen a la 24 y la Hoover ya que la mayoría de la gente en nuestro vecindario difícilmente puede ir al Hollywood Bowl. Los amigos que hemos hecho en Summer Sounds a través de Deb, son muy queridos por nosotros.
Entre los artistas y nuevos amigos se encuentra Louie Cruz Beltrán y su maravillosa manager, Anastasia Mann. Los conocimos el verano pasado en el Bowl y para Deb fue una maravilla trabajar con Louie. Ambos jugaron y crearon juntos muchos grandes momentos. Luego, Louie cantó y tocó su música. ¡Guau! Qué consumado intérprete. Cuando los invitamos a tocar en Día de los Muertos en noviembre, empezamos con una disculpa porque no teníamos mucho dinero para ofrecerles. Pero Louie y Anastasia no les preocupó eso en absoluto. Lo hicieron por amor. Estos dos, son el tipo de personas que a nosotros nos gustan; artistas de gran corazón. Ellos nos entiendieron. ¡Y Louie hizo temblar el teatro y el estacionamiento y por todos lados durante el Día de los Muertos!
Y él hará temblar el teatro de nuevo en nuestras Series de Explorador Sabatinas este 25 de abril. Somos muy afortunados de poder trabajar con artistas que realmente respetamos. Pero somos aún más afortunados por contar con artistas de primera clase a quien adoramos y respetamos. Ustedes los adorarán también.
