Get Creative at our Dia de los Muertos Community Workshops!

Get creative with 24th STreet Theatre!

Learn about Dia de los Muertos traditions or show us your artistic talents! All ages welcome.

It's that time of year again to prepare for 24th STreet Theatre's 12th Annual Dia de los Muertos Street Festival on Nov 2 and we need your help. Every year our event gets bigger and bigger and we could not have a successful festival without the help of volunteers like you.

This year, our workshops are focusing on the artistic and decorative traditions of Dia de los Muertos!
At our first workshop, October 14th, we've partnered with The Big Draw L.A. to invite artists of all ages and experience to help us design this year's face painting options for our booth at the festival! Templates will be provided, as well as a basic history of the tradition and symbols of DDLM face painting. Simple designs are best for our booth workers, so you don't need to be a professional artist to design a sugar skull "look" for us! Children and adults are welcome to participate!

Or if you're feeling more crafty, we will also be creating tissue paper flowers to be displayed throughout the festival, thanks to a generous donation from PaperMart. All materials are provided and instructions are given in English and Spanish.

On October 27th, our face painting volunteers for the festival will practice their techniques with our new designs from the first workshop. We'll also create more flowers, paint crosses for our graveyard and assemble kits of decorations for the altars.

There are volunteer opportunities for all ages and abilities, and we can't make this community festival happen with YOUR help!

Light refreshments and snacks will be provided at both workshops.

RSVP to this Facebook event and let us know which date you can come and what activities you are interested in. Groups and families welcome!
